Who am I?

Hi, my name is Andy Garcia. Born in 1990 in Barcelona, I started snowboarding at 18 in the toughest way possible. Despite the initial challenges, I became obsessed with the sport and eventually mastered it. At 22, I earned my certification as a snowboard instructor, and by 24, I also became a certified ski instructor. My journey from beginner to professional has fueled my passion for teaching and sharing my love for snowboarding and skiing with others.

I’ve worked many full winter seasons, teaching various classes including group lessons, private sessions, and training club kids. My experience spans across seasons in Spain, Argentina, Chile, New Zealand, and Japan. In 2019, I completed my snowboard coach training, further enhancing my skills and expertise.

Over time, I’ve grown to love teaching methodology and believe that technique is fundamental. Currently, I split my time between Niseko and Bariloche, relaxing between seasons at my home in Barcelona.

This year marks my 5th season working in Niseko, where I serve as a snowboard and ski instructor and also act as one of the coaches for the team of snowboard instructors at a school in Grand Hirafu. Niseko stands out as the perfect destination for learning and advancing in snowboarding, thanks to its outstanding conditions and a nurturing atmosphere for riders at every skill level.
